Contract Specifications

Contract Specifications set out the trading conditions that apply to each instrument. They are the governing reference for contract size, trade size limits, margin requirement, trading hours, swap-free treatment and, on the Raw account, commission.

Instruments covered

Specifications are published for every instrument available through the Royce group, across the following markets:

  • Foreign exchange — provided by Royce Global Markets Limited and Royce Capitals Ltd.
  • Precious metals — provided by Royce Global Markets Limited
  • Global indices — provided by Royce Global Markets Limited
  • Energies — provided by Royce Global Markets Limited
  • Futures — provided by Royce Global Markets Limited
  • Shares — provided by Royce Global Markets Limited

What each specification states

Field What it defines
Symbol The instrument identifier as shown on the trading platform.
Contract size The quantity of the underlying represented by one lot.
Minimum trade size The smallest order permitted for the instrument.
Maximum size per trade The largest single order permitted, subject to liquidity and the applicable trading policy.
Margin requirement The margin applied to a position in the instrument, which determines the leverage available on it.
Trading hours The session during which the instrument may be traded, and any scheduled break.
Commission The commission applied on the Raw account for that instrument. Commission is instrument-specific and no single universal rate applies.
Swap-free treatment Whether and how swap-free treatment applies to the instrument, in accordance with the Swap-Free Trading Policy.

Obtaining current specifications

Contract specifications are published on each market page, covering every instrument available in that market. The figures shown are indicative: instrument-level values change with market conditions, and the configuration held on the trading server prevails over any figure published here.
